About the Company:
Join one of the largest heavy civil contractors in the world, known for delivering complex, high-value transportation infrastructure across the U.S. and Florida. This is your chance to contribute to major highway, road, and design-build projects while working with an elite construction team shaping America's transportation future.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator with a proven background in road and highway construction. The ideal candidate has worked for a contractor, not just a consultant, and is highly proficient in developing accurate cost estimates for large-scale infrastructure projects—often exceeding $50M in value.

This role plays a critical part in our pre-construction operations, collaborating across engineering, operations, and procurement to ensure competitive, high-quality project proposals.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and prepare detailed estimates for heavy civil infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, bridges, and utilities.

Track commodity pricing and analyze market trends to inform current and future bids.

Review plans, specs, RFIs, and addenda to ensure complete understanding of project scope and changes.

Perform comprehensive take-offs, bid document preparation, and pricing – even with partial designs (30–60% complete).

Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to validate cost inputs.

Maintain vendor and subcontractor databases using SmartBidNet or similar tools.

Provide accurate sub-bid analysis and evaluation of vendor proposals.

Participate in project buyout and handoff processes post-bid award.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Minimum of 5+ years of estimating experience with a heavy civil contractor (roads, highways, bridges required).

Familiarity with large-scale bid projects $50M+.

Deep understanding of delivery methods such as Hard Bid, CSP, CMAR, CMGC, and Design-Build.

Proficient in estimating and take-off software (AutoCAD, Primavera, Timberline, WinEst, HCSS, or similar).

High competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Strong attention to detail, time management, and organization.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Valid U.S. driver's license; some travel may be required.

Why Join Us?
Work with a world-class infrastructure contractor on high-profile, legacy projects.

Competitive salary with opportunity for performance-based growth.

Collaborative and forward-thinking team culture.

Access to leading tools, training, and support in a safety-first environment.

Clearance: Not required. U.S. Citizenship or Work Authorization is required.
Application Instructions: Submit your resume and a brief cover letter highlighting your heavy civil estimating experience and software proficiency.
