We are currently looking for an Advanced Packaging Engineer to support our customers within the Strategic Microelectronics Division at Naval Surface Warfare Center - Crane.

This role will support the Strategic Microelectronics Division
Duties include:
- Proficient in the use of at least one of the following analytical instruments
- Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)
- Raman Spectroscopy
- Residual gas analysis or internal vapor analysis
- Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS)
- Ability to effectively have technical communication between peers and customers
- Rigorous and succinct summarization of technical results in a formal, written report using MS Word and MS PowerPoint
- Document procedures, follow documented procedure
- Deductive reasoning is necessary to interpret how individual laboratory results apply to a larger data package
- Laboratory skills necessary to perform rigorous tests and evaluations using analytical equipment
- Ability to adapt industry standard test and evaluation methods to the specific needs of a technical project

Minimum Requirements:
- Academic understanding of atomic-level material structures for metals, ceramics, and polymers, with a focus on polymers
- Working knowledge of microelectronic packaging
- Working knowledge of test and evaluation methods used for characterization atomic-level material structures and bonding, including FTIR, Raman, mass spectroscopy, residual gas analysis, and optical emission spectroscopy
- Working knowledge of industry standards pertaining to the test and evaluation of materials
- Working knowledge of analytical techniques to identify and characterize organic materials
- Working knowledge of high vacuum/ultra-high vacuum instrumentation is a plus
- Ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance (Note: U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or other related degrees
- Lab internship or at least 2 years professional experience
- Knowledgeable in atomic and molecular level structures in materials and methods used to probe those structures
- Laboratory experience that includes summarizing results into a final deliverable
- Active Secret Clearance
