About My Client
My client is building a revolutionary platform transforming military staff workflows and operational planning.
Their software enables smarter, real-time decisions with powerful collaboration tools, AI-driven features, and customizable workflows—making operational teams more effective than ever. Their growing user base includes Combatant Commands and Service Components globally.
Founded in 2019 by seasoned planners, my client's team now includes 120+ professionals—veterans from all military branches, technologists from leading software companies, and leaders from global organizations. They've raised over $53M from top-tier venture investors and continue to scale rapidly.
What You Will Achieve
As Director of Infrastructure, you’ll act as the critical link between internal delivery teams and complex customer environments. Your mission: ensure the platform operates reliably, securely, and at scale across both classified and unclassified networks—becoming a trusted, indispensable tool for customers.
You'll lead efforts to harden infrastructure, evolve secure deployments, improve internal tooling, and drive delivery of scalable, supportable environments. This is a pivotal role in maintaining delivery speed while earning trust in sensitive operational domains.
This newly created position reports directly to the CIO, with a clear goal: enable the company to meet growing enterprise demands without compromising speed or customer focus.
About You
You are a mission-driven technical leader who thrives in ambiguous environments and drives efficiency through systems thinking. Whether your background is in private tech, defense, or both, what matters most is your ability to lead with clarity and meet high technical standards.
You’re fluent in concepts like availability, automation, and operational resilience. You’ve led technical programs with measurable impact and can communicate effectively across engineers, program managers, and C-level stakeholders.
Your recent roles might include Director of Infrastructure, Head of Engineering Operations, VP of IT, or Deputy Director of IT—someone trusted when systems, uptime, or compliance are at stake.
Security Requirement
You must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. This is a condition of employment.
Qualifications
Professional Experience:
10+ years in infrastructure, security, or service delivery roles (3+ in a senior or leadership capacity)
Experience in or with DoD IT environments, including classified networks
Proven leadership of cross-functional technical programs
Technical Proficiency:

Familiarity with secure network setups, endpoint and identity management, and compliance automation
Experience with vulnerability management platforms and internal IT tooling
Soft Skills:
Strong organizational and systems thinking skills
Effective communicator across technical and executive audiences
Confident decision-maker amid ambiguity
Nice-to-Haves:
Active security clearance (or the ability to quickly obtain one)

You’re a Great Fit If You:
Obsess over creating value for real users
Are ambitious, resourceful, and solutions-oriented
Thrive in iterative, collaborative environments
Operate with integrity, humility, and intellectual honesty
Communicate clearly and concisely
Embrace autonomy and navigate ambiguity with confidence
