GS-08: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing training and instruction of law enforcement equipment usage and application techniques, and law enforcement procedures while performing law enforcement duties; responding to emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service during the watch; enforcing traffic laws and issuing traffic citations; subduing and disarming those who are doing violence to other persons; administering first aid; gathering and analyzing facts; seizing and protecting evidence; taking witness statements; advising violators rights; conducting investigative stops; conducting preliminary investigations.

- Must meet medical standards for Police Officers in DoD 6055.05M and NMCPHC-TM-OM 6260.
- This is a mission essentiasl position.
- Overtime may be required.
- Required to wear a uniform and maintain appearance and grooming standards per Marine Corps Orders/ policies.
- Must successfully complete a designated USMC Police Officers Course of Instruction and meet all certification requirements, to include weapons certifications, CPR, AED, DoD Joint Training Regulations, etc.
- As first responders to chemical/biological attacks, must be able to train and wear personal protective equipment to include mask, suit, boot, an gloves.
- If incumbent is conducting law enforcement operations in a navigable waters, incumbent must attend the Inland Boat Operator Training Program at FLETC or a similar source.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
- Failure to meet conditions of employment may result in disciplinary action or termination.
- Must complete the MCPA FTO Course (Train-the Trainer) or USMC approved equivalent course prior to conducting FTO assignments.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

- You will perform duties as a FTO and instructs new police officers in their specific tasks and techniques, and provides written instructions, reference M1 trellis and supplies to assist in the instruction given.
- You will provide on the job training to new police officers in accordance with the FTO program and establish procedures and practices.
- You will monitor progress of trainees and make recommendations for improvement.
- You will ensure new police officers perform work according to 10 DCPENMEN 1 guidelines and make recommendations for improvement.
- You will make on-the-spot decisions on out of the ordinary incidents and monitor activities in the field and provide technical guidance, assistance, and instruction to new police officers.
- You will check on work in progress, review Incident Reports for accuracy and annotate discrepancies and/or areas of concern.
- You will answer questions of new police officers on procedures, policies, directives, etc.
- You will be responsible for ensuring trainees are receiving training and current on all qualifications.
- You will respond to and investigate complaints while enforcing federal laws, Uniform Code of Military Justice, and Naval and Marine Corps regulations and installation directives.
- You will respond to emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service during the watch.

- This position ins subject to shift work. Incumbent is subject to 24-hour recall and will maintain a 24-hour recall notification number and is required to respond. May be interrupted from meal or other work breaks while on duty.
- May be required to respond to off base circumstances as directed by the installation commander, in accordance with USMC and DoD policy.
- Incumbent must pass a sanctioned physical agility test and medical evaluation and pass periodic re-tests as required.
- Incumbent must pass all weapons qualifications prior to assigned duties and responsibilities and must pass all re-qualifications as required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and be able to maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license.
- Incumbent must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Incumbent must carry firearms.
- This is a Department of Navy drug testing designated position. Incumbent is required to undergo pre-employment unrinalysis requirements and sustainment drug testing.
- Must be able to use all police equipment, certify in the use of radar detection and alcohol detection equipment, field sobriety tests, expandable or collapsible baton, and obtain other certifications required to accomplish the duties.
- Position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and pass a National Agency Check and local background check.
- This position does not meet the defintion of law enforcement officer (LEO) and is excluded from coverage as LEO for purposes of the Federal Employment Retirement System-Base Annuity IAW 5 CFR, Part 842, Subpart H.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
