TIAG is now hiring a System Engineer to join our team supporting our Naval Information Warfare Command (NIWC) customer out of Quantico, VA.

For this wargaming program TIAG provides a range of cyber security, Information Technology (IT) engineering services support, assessment and authorization (A&A), and cyber operations support including support for life-cycle management policy, guidance, oversight, and direction for a cyber analytics system.

An active Top Secret clearance is required to start work. This position reports onsite at our client location and has potential for telework 1-2 days per week. Travel may be required. Core business hours are 0900 to 1500.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the installation, deployment and maintenance of Windows and RHEL enterprise solutions/software
  • Help with monitoring and basic configuration of SIEM tools like Splunk (training will be provided)
  • Assist in configuring and maintaining core IT services such as DNS, DHCP, SAN, SQL Databases, Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Support VMware environment tasks, including creating and managing virtual machines
  • Participate in the provisioning and deployment of workstation images in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments
  • Troubleshoot basic system and application issues, escalating complex problems to senior staff
  • Assist in applying security configurations and maintaining system logging
  • Schedule, perform, and monitor system backups, and when necessary, perform data recovery operations
  • Help maintain technical documentation and contribute to team discussions on solutions and improvements
  • Maintain Flankspeed, SIPR-net, and all admin account access, including being located within driving distance from a base


Required Experience:
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain one preferred)
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or B.A. in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering or similar preferred
  • 4 years of relevant hands-on experience in system administration in enterprise environments (e.g., Windows, RHEL, SUSE Linux, VMware)
  • Minimum certification as IAT Level II per DoD 8570.01, or successor
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles including ports/protocols, firewall basics, and general DoD cybersecurity awareness
  • Exposure to SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Elastic, or others), with an interest in log analysis and security monitoring
  • Basic understanding of Defense Information Systems Agency published Security Technical Information Guidance (STIG) requirements and compliance processes
  • Ability to manage time well to meet assigned milestones
  • A meticulous eye for detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Pay Range: $110,000 - $125,000 per year
