Systems Administrator – Hybrid
Location: Rockford, IN
Work Schedule: Hybrid (3 days remote / 2 days onsite after 90 days)
On-Call: Must work every 12th week on-call (minimal call backs, most are remote)
Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to support the technical design, deployment, optimization, and maintenance of enterprise IT systems in a 24x7x365 mission-critical environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of core systems including servers, storage, application delivery, and virtual infrastructure. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about leveraging technology to meet organizational goals and user needs.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule following a 90-day onboarding period, with on-call duty required every 12th week (typically remote with minimal callbacks).
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and administer enterprise systems across Microsoft Servers, VMware, Horizon, Microsoft 365, and cloud platforms
Support application delivery using VMware Horizon and Zero Clients
Administer Active Directory, Azure, SCCM, SharePoint, and related technologies
Manage Cisco UCS, HCI, and enterprise-class SAN/NAS/ISCSI storage environments
Provide support for workstation, server, and network hardware/software issues
Monitor system performance and conduct troubleshooting and remediation
Recommend and implement system redesigns or configuration changes as needed
Participate in after-hours and weekend support when required (on-call rotation every 12 weeks)
Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to lead and deliver projects under strict deadlines
Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and reports
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred)
3+ years of hands-on experience in information technology or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of IT experience, ideally in a high-availability 24/7 environment
Prior experience in healthcare IT or similar regulated environments
Industry certifications such as VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, or EMC
Familiarity with cloud platforms, SSO, and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)
Technical Skills & Competencies:
VMware Virtual Server Environment and Horizon
Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, M365, Azure, SCCM
Application delivery using VMWare Horizon and Zero Clients
Storage management (SAN/NAS/FC/iSCSI)
Compute platforms including Cisco UCS and Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI)
Network experience with Cisco LAN/WAN/Wireless
Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels
Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to work overtime or after hours as needed
