Senior Systems Engineer
Location: Santa Barbara, CA (Onsite)
Schedule: 9/80 (Every other Friday off)
Salary: $125,000–$180,000 + Bonus + Full Benefits

About the Role:
We’re seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our innovative engineering team in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you’ll support the design, development, and integration of advanced electro-mechanical sub-systems critical to modern military vehicles. Our technology portfolio includes:
Stabilized Turret Drive Systems
Integrated Weapon Systems (from mechanical design to fire control software)
Ammunition Handling Systems
Power & Data Distribution Systems
You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to lead the development of cutting-edge defense systems in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide systems engineering support for the full product lifecycle: design, integration, testing, and verification
Develop and refine system requirements, specifications, and interface control documents
Build and analyze control algorithms and dynamic system models (linear & nonlinear)
Design and simulate fire control systems using MATLAB/Simulink
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to meet program goals
Author technical documentation including system engineering plans and test reports
Support lab and field testing to validate system performance
Provide technical leadership and mentorship within development teams
Travel occasionally for program support and customer engagement
Required Qualifications:
BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (with emphasis in Control Systems and Signal Processing)
5–10 years of industry experience in electro-mechanical system development
Strong foundation in control systems theory (classical and modern)
Experience with signal processing and system modeling
Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink
Hands-on experience with both hardware and software aspects of complex systems
Skilled in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
Eligible to work with export-controlled information
Preferred Qualifications:
MS degree with focus in Control Systems or Signal Processing
Experience with turret fire control systems or other military systems
Direct involvement with system integration and test in a defense setting
Familiarity with DoD engineering standards and military environments
