Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) Senior Operations Engineer to support enterprise endpoint management operations for a high-availability, mission-critical DoD environment. This role requires deep technical expertise in MECM (formerly SCCM), Windows systems administration, patch management, and endpoint security. The ideal candidate will support the configuration, deployment, and ongoing management of secure desktop and server environments across classified and unclassified networks.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) across multiple environments.
Plan, deploy, and monitor software distributions, operating system deployments (OSD), and patching schedules.
Develop, test, and deploy custom task sequences and applications for enterprise endpoint deployments.
Maintain compliance with DoD security requirements including patch baselines, Group Policy, and STIGs.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure endpoint hardening and vulnerability mitigation.
Monitor system health and performance, conduct troubleshooting, and ensure high availability of MECM infrastructure.
Create and maintain technical documentation for configurations, procedures, and reporting.
Provide Tier III support for endpoint-related incidents and escalations.
Participate in planning and implementation of upgrades, migrations, and improvements to MECM and related systems.
Required Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret Clearance (TS/SCI preferred or eligible).
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of IT experience with 5+ years focused on MECM/SCCM administration in a large enterprise.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft MECM, including OSD, software updates, collections, and reporting.
Strong skills in Windows 10/11 and Windows Server administration.
Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and WSUS.
Experience working in DoD or federal government environments.
Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automation and task sequencing.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE) required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Intune, Autopilot, or hybrid co-management environments.
Knowledge of HBSS, Tanium, or endpoint detection and response tools.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
ITIL Foundations certification or experience in ITIL-based service environments.
