Highly technical role providing pre/post-sales Engineering Design/Architecture, Operational, and Support of Juniper products within the customer infrastructure.
The candidate must have a detailed understanding of protocols used for IP service provider networks and demonstratable technical expertise in the configuration, troubleshooting, and operation of IP-based routers, switches, and security devices.
Security+ certification is required. CASP or CISSP would work.
Juniper products to be supported: MX, EX, QFX, SRX
Qualifications
10+ years of deep understanding of routing and switching protocols: OSPF, BGP/MP-BGP, MPLS.
Expert knowledge of L2 and L3 multicast deployments.
Support routine network startup and shutdown procedures and maintain control records.
Configure and test hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
Expertise in the evaluation of new network technologies and makes recommendations to the network architecture team regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network.
Ensures that plans for hardware and communications are adequate.
Develops and implements methodologies for analysis, testing, and support of LAN and WAN networks.
Diagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective components.
Support operations and maintain activities and administer networks including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
Perform long-term O&M activities to include tier 3 troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Utilize complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network while maintaining logs and records associated with reported problems or situations.
Prepare troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels.
Assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements.
Certifications such as JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIE a plus
