Lakota Solutions is currently seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Site Lead to join our team and provide support for Army contract work at Puget Sound Naval Station, WA.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of diesel, lpg, and electric forklifts, aerial platforms, material handling equipment, medium duty trucks and trailers
Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic repair/troubleshooting
Creates work orders and enters data into Defense Property and Accountability System (DPAS).
Ensures duties are performed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner
Assists and directs the daily work of mechanics
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, job related internet research and ability to utilize/create spreadsheets, checklists, etc. for daily usage
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization both written and verbal
Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills with focus on attention to detail.
Be able to work both independently and in a team, environment completing objectives efficiently with a sense of responsibility and ownership.
Be able to safely complete the physical tasks associated with the essential job functions. These tasks include climbing, walking, lifting, bending, standing, carrying and squatting.
Be able and willing to work in non-ideal environments such as: tight spaces, working at heights, dusty/dirty and around chemicals.
Understand, practice and enforce safe work practices related to the following: respiratory protection, elevated work platforms, fall protection, (Lockout/Tagout procedure) electrical safety, forklift, PPE and employee Right to Know.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Candidate must meet all requirements to be issued and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
Candidate must be willing to work onsite at Puget Sound Naval Station, WA
Candidate must have 5+ years experience with the following:
HMMWV Family of Vehicles (FOV) Fundamental Maintenance and Troubleshooting Skillset
FMTV/LMTV FOV Fundamental Maintenance and Troubleshooting Skillset
HEMTT FOV Fundamental Maintenance and Troubleshooting Skillset
Trailer Fundamental Maintenance and Troubleshooting Skillset
Power Generation Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting Skillset
Vehicle mounted Air Conditioning and Heater Maintenance and Troubleshooting Skillset
Valid Driver’s License – required to operate military vehicles without airbrakes
Supervising employees
Working in DPAS - Defense Property and Accountability System
Candidate must have 1+ year(s) experience with the following:
Team Lead or supervisor experience
