Alaska Northstar Resources is seeking an Appian Developer to join our team on a hybrid remote basis. Occasional travel will be required for team meetings and training.
The Appian Developer will play a crucial role in platform application development, requirements gathering, testing, and remediation. They will also be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Development, configuration, and establishment of complex Appian functionalities.
- Participating in backlog refinements to provide insights on acceptance criteria.
- Contributing to the design of mission critical Appian capabilities within the application while adhering to best practices.
- Supporting data modeling and testing.
- Collaborating with product owners and business analysts to understand and refine user stories by adding detailed technical acceptance criteria, and drive quality and completeness of stories.
- Estimating effort and complexity for user stories and tasks during spring planning.
- Designing, developing, and implementing complex Appian capabilities, data records/models, and functionalities while adhering to best practices and design.
- Driving design review, code review, and development best practices.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Appian applications and integrations.
- Participation in knowledge sharing sessions and contribute to the development of internal documentation and training materials.
- Providing testing support, including creating test cases and identifying testing needs.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers and QA engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Staying updated with the latest Appian features, tools, and industry trends.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the continuous enhancement of development practices.
Requirements
Candidate must have an active Top-Secret clearance.
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
Candidate must have a Master's in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
Candidate must have an Appian Senior Developer Certification (or greater)
Candidate must have at least 10 years of directly relevant industry experience in the following:
- Appian platform application development and complex Appian functionalities/capabilities.
- Appian testing methodologies, latest features, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of Appian architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Appian SAIL, process modeling, and integration capabilities.
- Relational databases, SQL, and web services (REST/SOAP).
- Candidate must have experience mentoring and leading development teams.
- Candidate must have strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to navigate BA Workflow, Agile Scrum, and Project Management tools (Jira, MS Project, Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Business Process / Rules repositories).
- Proven understanding and application of Waterfall, Agile Scrum, and Kanban software development methodologies.
Work Environment
Office environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%). Occasional business travel may be required. Only requested and approved expenses will be covered by ANR.
