Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Subcontractor to support our operations in Colorado Springs. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of subcontract management, government contracting, and DoD acquisition practices. This role requires strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage high-value, complex subcontract efforts in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all aspects of subcontract lifecycle activities, from proposal through closeout.
Develop subcontract documentation including RFPs, price analyses, risk assessments, and negotiation memoranda.
Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS regulations and company policies.
Interface with internal program teams and external suppliers to ensure subcontract deliverables meet cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
Collaborate with contracts, finance, legal, and procurement teams to support successful execution.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks throughout the subcontracting process.
Conduct supplier performance evaluations and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Support audits and data calls related to subcontracting activities.
Required Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and verifiable).
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum 7 years of experience in subcontract management, preferably within a defense or aerospace environment.
Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and government acquisition processes.
Demonstrated success in managing complex, high-value subcontracts.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Deltek).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or NCMA certification (e.g., CPCM, CFCM).
Experience supporting classified programs or secure facilities.
Prior work with major DoD prime contractors.
