Network Engineer
Location: Onsite at Access Board, 1331 F Street NW, Suite 1000, Washington, DC 20004; with option to telework

Salary Range: $110K–$145K
Description:
Administer and optimize LAN/WAN infrastructure, firewalls, routers, and switches from vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet. Monitor performance, patch firmware, and enforce secure configurations in accordance with agency IT policies and NIST controls.
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid – Onsite and Remote)
Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible for a Public Trust

Job Description:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and supporting secure and scalable network systems, including LAN, WAN, and Cloud-based environments, to support UNITED STATES ACCESS BOARD (USAB) operations.
Key Responsibilities:
● Design and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, firewalls, switches, and access points.
● Manage and troubleshoot network devices from Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Juniper.
● Implement and monitor network security settings in alignment with NIST and agency requirements.
● Perform firmware upgrades, patch management, and performance tuning.
● Document network architecture, configurations, and changes in accordance with the Configuration Control Board (CCB) process.
● Coordinate with third-party vendors for hardware support, installations, or repairs.
● Track asset deployment and maintain up-to-date inventory.
Required Qualifications:
● 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
● Strong hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, and Microsoft Azure networking components.
● Working knowledge of network monitoring tools and protocols.
Industry certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent, are preferred.
