Overview:
Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Local Area Network (LAN) Lead for a potential opportunity managing a larger team whose objective is to support wired and wireless LAN functions by providing skills and expertise in telecom engineering and operational support of current and new technologies to the Local Area Network (LAN). The LAN Lead will work under general supervision, developing the requirements of a product from inception to conclusion. The LAN Lead will develop specifications for simple to moderately complex problems. In addition, coordinate with the PM, COTRs, and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.

The LAN Lead will work under general supervision, developing the requirements of a product from inception to conclusion. The LAN Lead will develop specifications for simple to moderately complex problems. In addition, coordinate with the PM, COTRs, and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.
Key Responsibilities:
The Contractor shall assist in coordinating with J6 and other agencies on the following:
- Assist the Network Engineering team with equipment, lifecycle planning, and installation, as well as the development of technical specifications for the procurement of Enterprise LAN equipment
- Coordinate with the Network Engineering team for the placement and cabling of LAN equipment within the DLA enclave
- Development of market research for new equipment and providing recommendations to the Government POC
- Provide input on LAN designs and architecture as required
- Perform lab testing of LAN equipment
- Provide knowledge transfer to the NTS-LAN government staff
- Track assigned projects, provide regular updates to the Task Order Project
- Manager (TOPM) and Government POC
- Attend meetings regarding LAN support and assigned projects
- Effectively task, track, monitor, and report on tickets, projects, and special assignments within their area of responsibility
- Five (5) years of progressive LAN experience, including at least two projects in technical areas included in the Statement of Work Task Area 1 Section 4.1 a. At least one project must have occurred within the past three (3) years.
- Required Certifications:
- Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority. DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II
- Computing Environment: CCSE NGX, CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, SCNA, CCSE NGX Plus NG with AI, CCMSE NG with AI, CSMSE NG with AI Plus VSX, NSA, ESE
- Sensitivity Level IT-I - Critical Sensitive
- Requires T5/SSBI
- Performed planning and installation of equipment, as well as developed technical specifications for the procurement of Enterprise LAN equipment.
- Performed tasks for the placement and cabling of LAN equipment within a DoD's secure enclave
- Developed market research for new equipment and provided recommendations to the Government POC
- Provided input on LAN designs and architecture
- Performed lab testing of LAN equipment
- Provided knowledge transfer to government customers
- Performed management and reporting of IT Project Tasks
- Tasked, tracked, monitored and reported on tickets, projects, and special assignments within personnel's area of responsibility
