Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Senior Software Developer for the following opportunity:
Technical Leadership & Guidance: Technical Design and Architecture: Participating in the design and architecture of software solutions, often leading the technical direction for specific features or components. This includes making key technology decisions and ensuring scalability and maintainability.
Code Quality and Standards: Establishing and enforcing coding standards, best practices, and patterns within the team. Conducting thorough code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.
Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Tackling complex technical challenges, debugging critical issues, and providing effective solutions. Often acts as a point of escalation for difficult technical problems.
Performance Optimization: Identifying and implementing strategies to optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Software Development & Delivery: Full Stack Development: Depending on the team and project, you might be involved in both front-end and back-end development, database design, and API development.
Deployment and Maintenance: Participating in the deployment process and providing support for production systems. Troubleshooting issues in live environments and implementing fixes.
Agile Methodologies: Working effectively within agile frameworks (like Scrum or Kanban), participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Collaboration and Communication: Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with product managers, designers, testers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure alignment.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proficiency in Programming Languages: Mastery of one or more relevant technical areas: Java, SQL, .NET, IBM Z/OS mainframe
Deep understanding of the different phases of the SDLC (requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance) and methodologies like Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall.
Data Structures and Algorithms: Solid foundation in fundamental data structures (arrays, linked lists, trees, graphs, etc.) and algorithms, enabling you to solve complex problems efficiently and optimize performance.
Software Architecture and Design Patterns: Ability to design scalable, robust, and maintainable software systems using established architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, MVC) and design principles.
Databases: Experience with various types of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and the ability to design schemas, write efficient queries, and understand database optimization techniques.
Education: Bachelor's Degree
