ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Engineer to join our team in Cape Canaveral, Florida. This is an onsite position.
This position provides Launch Site Systems Engineering support to the U.S. Space Force Launch Vehicle Mission Assurance team to ensure the capability to provide launch services for Department of Defense (DoD) National Security Space Launch (NSSL) missions. This role offers deep technical engagement directly influencing the success of Assured Access to Space (AATS).

This position provides Launch Site Systems Engineering support to the U.S. Space Force Launch Vehicle Mission Assurance team to ensure the capability to provide launch services for Department of Defense (DoD) National Security Space Launch (NSSL) missions. This role offers deep technical engagement directly influencing the success of Assured Access to Space (AATS).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analyze SpaceX processes and procedures including vehicle processing, test, and checkout for launch operations
- Monitor SpaceX's anomaly resolution process, review risks, issues, and changes to support the government's efforts to track configuration changes, and support the Mission Assurance Team during operations by troubleshooting, tracking and reporting nominal and anomalous events
- Assess and evaluate SpaceX's launch complex requirements, design, configuration changes and verification/validation documentation and provide risk recommendations to the government
- Observe SpaceX's launch readiness reviews, Post-Flight Data Reviews, ground system performance reviews, and participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and Chief Engineer Review Boards
- Closely collaborate with our internal ManTech Cape Canaveral Software Engineering team to represent Engineering Verification needs for development into our Dynamic Launch Review Matrix application
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field
- 12+ years as a systems engineer, technical PM, or other related areas.
- 4 + years DoD or launch/range experience
- Flexibility to support launch vehicle procedures, testing, and mission operations during non-standard business hours/days with expectation to perform those duties over multiple attempts and adaptability to evolving government customer requirements, and adaptability to evolving government customer requirements
- Familiarity with Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) facilities, processes, providers and operations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with digital data and collaboration tools including Power Automate, Jira, Confluence, Mattermost, Power BI, Power Apps. Proficiency in Data Analysis and Application Programming Interfaces.
- Experience with launch site communication systems to include telemetry data, operational voice and video.
- Experience contributing, participating, or acting as technical liaison to agile software development processes and languages.
- Experience with SpaceX or other launch service provider vehicles, launch complexes, or data systems.
- Ability to work both independently and in team environment, and maintain a positive professional attitude
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, machine and computer printer.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
