Sr. Technical Administrator

Job Description:
The Technical Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure both located within the Standalone Local Area Network supporting classified work. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, Government regulations, enabling staff, Partners, and customers. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge across multiple technology applications and platforms utilized in classified and unclassified areas.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance of servers in all capacities that include, but not limited to configuring, installing new hardware/software, performing upgrades to existing servers & software, coordinating the introduction of additional servers and storage to the network, following security policies and procedures, and performing other technical duties as needed.
- Maintain servers and storage such as, but not limited to, Rubrik backup solutions, WIN 2019 Servers, Windows 10 and 11 deployments for end users, Linux servers, VMWare, ESXI servers, Horizon servers, etc.
- Provide platform infrastructure support.
- SPLUNK administration and architecture.
- Maintain detailed inventory of Business Area assets in Classified areas.
- Maintain documentation of network server configurations, application licensing agreements, and other third-party software installed.
- Maintain server and related hardware.
- Responsible for backup systems process and procedures.
- Document repair/maintenance and change requests through IS department ticketing system.
- Perform on call after hours support as part of the rotation.
- Work closely with the Application team and Development team to provide any required hardware support.
- Proactively monitors the infrastructure including servers to prevent issues and to resolve issues as they happen.
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting wired/wireless networks and related equipment.
- Participate in testing of new software and hardware.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Build prototype systems for demo and testing.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 10 or more years of relevant experience. Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and basic network routing protocol.
Desired Skills:
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, with a focus on engineering and technical solutions.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM solutions, and vulnerability management tools.
- Experience with programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java).
- Experience with CI/CD and DevSec Ops.
- Experience with but not limited to Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Cisco, Palo Alto, PowerShell, etc.
- Experience with Active directory and Linux administration.
- Experience with setting up build-machines and software development support.
- Experience with reverse engineering tools and techniques, including static and dynamic analysis, disassemblers, and debuggers.
- Experience in Multiple Operating Systems (e.g. Linux, Windows, etc).
- Expert level in AD and Exchange administration.
- Experience with Cisco Call manager deployment and administration.
- Experience with VOIP solutions for classified and unclassified networks.
- Experience with Cisco networking devices and Palo alto devices.
- WSUS (or sccm) expertise for patching.
- ISM CAP, CISSP, or CISM Certification.
- ISSE CAP, CISSP-ISSEP Certification.
- Security+ CE, MCSE, Linux, and/or CCNP Security Certification.
- System and network engineering and architecture experience in complex virtual environments.
- Experience working in and supporting SCIFs.
