Summary:
The Director of Financial Compliance is responsible for ensuring the organization adheres to all relevant financial laws, regulations and internal policies. This role ensures the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP principles, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and internal policies. The Director of Financial Compliance plays a critical role in producing financial statements, audit preparation, tax and license reporting, and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy across financial operations.

Job Description and Responsibilities:
* Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes
* Prepare internal and external financial statements in compliance with GAAP principals and Federal Acquisition Regulations
* Oversee and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and corporate policies
* Identify, assess and mitigate financial compliance risk.
* Assist in the development of corporate polices and process documentation.
* Support the annual financial audit process, including liaising with external auditors
* Lead the tax preparation and compliance activities (income tax, sales/use tax, property tax, etc.)
* Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Accounting and Financial Operations, to support business initiatives
* Prepare Incurred Cost Submissions and other financial reports as required.
* Communicate compliance requirements and expectations to various stakeholders, including employees, management and regulatory bodies.
* Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by leadership
Requirements:
* Certified Public Accountant or other financial certification.
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or 10 plus years of industry experience with the ability to demonstrate increased levels of responsibility while effectively leading a team of accountants.
* Proven experience in a senior financial role.
* In depth understating of GAAP and Federal Acquisition Regulations.
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Travel, as needed, for annual meetings, training and other yearly events.
* Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Working knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements.
* Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
* Strong team player that is able to work within and across organizational boundaries and geographic locations/time zones.
* Previous experience working remotely is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have enough mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weigh up to thirty (30) pounds, as necessary.
Location/Work Schedule:
This is a remote work from home position.
Although there is flexibility built into the role, it is expected that the Accounting Manager be available during normal business hours and have a dedicated workspace. On occasion the person in this role may be asked to support the company's needs early in the morning or evenings.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000
