Position Summary
Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer supporting a high-priority acquisition mission within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (AFLCMC/HNC). Located at Lackland AFB, this division delivers full-spectrum life cycle support for Information Assurance and cybersecurity systems critical to Air Force and national defense missions. In this role, you will provide comprehensive systems engineering expertise across acquisition, development, testing, sustainment, and operations to ensure mission assurance through secure and resilient cyber capabilities.
Responsibilities
In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Must have an Active Top Secret Clearance
Education: BA/BS and 15 years of experience in systems engineering (minimum 5 years in DoD), OR
Preferred Qualifications
Clearance: Top Secret/SCI
Education: Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field
Years of experience: 15+ years in a DoD environment

Duties include, but not limited to:
- Conduct technical reviews and analysis of program portfolios, recommending alternative plans, process improvements, and performance enhancements.
- Evaluate and manage system technical baselines; design and assess system-level tests to ensure compliance with performance requirements.
- Review proposed system designs and test outcomes to verify subsystem and overall system performance per specifications.
- Develop and deliver technical documentation, specifications, management reports, and engineering presentations.
- Validate system and subsystem functionality through established evaluation criteria and procedures.
- Provide subject matter expertise and training across system acquisition, integration, sustainment, fielding, and operations.
- Perform system engineering support to program risk management in accordance with Air Force SEAM guidelines.
- Conduct trade space and gap analyses, MODA (Multi-Objective Decision Analysis), and cost-benefit studies.
- Lead the implementation of Digital Engineering concepts, including Digital Thread and Digital Twin applications throughout the system lifecycle.
- Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure technical integration and alignment with program goals.
Qualifications

- 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications (minimum 8 years in DoD)
Preferred Qualifications
Clearance: Top Secret/SCI
Education: Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field
Years of experience: 15+ years in a DoD environment
Technical Skills
- Deep understanding of system development lifecycle (SDLC) and Air Force acquisition policies (DoDI 5000.02, AF SEAM)
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Thread, and Digital Twin methodologies
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering modeling tools
- Experience with cyber systems and secure systems engineering a strong plus
Interpersonal Skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven track record of collaborative problem-solving in cross-functional teams
- Ability to lead technical discussions and facilitate decision-making
