Position Description:
We are seeking a talented, driven, and experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with a passion for solving business problems to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT.
This role will be performed at the client site in Salt Lake City, UT! Youll be part of a team supporting our client's banking system modernization effort!

Your future duties and responsibilities:
Collaborate with Product Management and business partners to iteratively build robust and scalable solutions
Research, analyze and recommend technology features, functionality, and development solutions
Document code, perform code reviews, define and participate in secure coding best practices
Create technical documentation and user manuals to support mainframe applications
Create documentation of operational tasks, procedures and automated processes.
Work on application support and maintenance for multiple applications
Provide on-call support
Coordinate with offshore team
Serve as technical SME of supported applications for multiple projects and initiatives
Be a technical contact for application related questions, user ticket resolution, audit responses, manage releases
Provide cross-training to team members and provide mainframe expertise guidance to junior developers
Debug and resolve technical issues.
Expected to learn quickly on the job about the systems and deliver time critical enhancements in a fast-paced team environment
Attend meetings and provide updates
Fix faults and restore the operability or carry out suitable workaround measures
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Bachelors degree in a relevant field (i.e.: Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a similar major with extensive computer-based or technical content)
Primary skillset: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM
Secondary skillset: Assembler, EZtrieve
10+ years of experience in software maintenance and support in mainframe languages (COBOL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM)
Technical knowledge based on experience and skilled in (COBOL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM)
Experience working with large teams supporting multiple applications required
Experience working and coordinating with Offshore teams required
Experience with EZtrieve and Endevor is preferred
Experience with mainframe debugging tool
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated skills in exercising initiative, good judgment, and making sound technical decisions
Ability to propose and assess the quality of solutions for moderate to complex solutions

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $78,400 - $173,500.
