The Security Technician III (Team Lead) oversees day-to-day operations of the ATC Visit Center and Gate 13 access control team. This role manages visitor access operations, supervises a team of Security Technicians, and ensures compliance with all access control procedures and systems. The Team Lead also serves as the primary point of contact for system maintenance, training, scheduling, and workflow coordination with the S2 Deputy Chief of Security.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the work of Technician I and II staff across the Visit Center and Gate 13.
Ensure proper training in access control procedures and visitor database systems.
Perform all functions of Technician I & II roles as needed.
Manage daily operations including visitor badging, gate access, and database updates.
Monitor and report on personnel performance, system issues, and equipment maintenance.
Maintain and update SOPs, guard orders, and access control protocols.
Manage inventory of equipment and supplies; report needs monthly.
Provide accurate and timely access control statistics and reports as required.
Serve as the lead for processing computer access requests via Track It system.
Qualifications:
5+ years in a security environment or an Associate’s Degree in a security-related field.
5+ years of leadership experience as a team lead, supervisor, or manager.
Strong understanding of access control systems (hardware & software).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and critical thinking.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and stakeholders.
Ability to manage priorities, delegate tasks effectively, and adapt to evolving security technologies.
Active Secret Clearance.
