Looking for two CNC MACHINISTS 2 to support our position for our Beltsville, MD facility. The position is for 2ND shift. The candidate will set-up and operate a variety of machines such as lathes, mills, manual shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions
Responsibilities:
• Machine set-up
• Interpret Blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
• Determine sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of set-up.
• Use a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Measures, marks and scribes’ dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
• Fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.
• Some machines may be numerically controlled.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other procedures.
Basic Qualifications for Machinist 2:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating CNC machines in an industrial manufacturing setting
• Strong understanding of machining techniques and materials
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications for Machinist 2
Experience with reading and writing CNC programs
Experience with wire EDM
Experience with GD&T
