What You’ll Do:
Lead end-to-end ServiceNow platform design, strategy, and optimization
Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant ServiceNow solutions
Own the technical roadmap for ITSM, ITAM, SecOps, GRC, and TPRM modules
Guide technical teams on best practices, coding standards, and process governance
Design and build workflows, REST/SOAP API integrations, and custom applications
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the platform for scalability and efficiency
Provide technical mentorship to ServiceNow engineers and stakeholders
Maintain documentation, system compliance, and governance processes
Engage directly with leadership to align platform capabilities with business objectives
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development and solution design (not just end-user experience)
Direct experience with ITSM, ITAM, SecOps, and GRC modules (TPRM is a plus)
Experience leading technical teams (mentorship, guidance, project leadership — not people management)
Strong scripting skills (JavaScript, Glide) and experience with Service Portal (HTML, CSS, AngularJS, SASS, Bootstrap)
Hands-on experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems (REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, Spokes)
Familiarity with Perl or Python for application integrations
Strong Linux environment experience
Proficiency with ServiceNow best practices for scalability, security, and performance
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with senior business and IT stakeholders
Preferred Skills:
Certifications such as:
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (ITSM, ITAM, or equivalent)
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
ITIL v3/v4 Certification
Certified Technical Architect (CTA)
Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies
Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure) is a plus
Location:
Candidates must be local within a 70-mile radius of Reston, VA, or willing to relocate prior to starting.
Candidates should have a personal reason to be in the DC/Northern Virginia area beyond just this role (e.g., family ties, long-term career goals).

Base salary up to $180K (depending on experience)
