Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer (SSE) with a strong background in Salesforce development and a working knowledge of ITIL best practices to support a mission-critical IT modernization program for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). The SSE will support modernization of legacy applications and workflows by developing scalable, cloud-based solutions with a primary focus on Salesforce implementation, customization, and integration. Candidates should bring both technical depth and process orientation to align with enterprise ITIL-based service delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Map, document, and analyze existing applications and workflows to inform legacy system modernization and migration to platforms such as Salesforce and ServiceNow.
• Design, develop, and implement scalable Salesforce solutions including custom apps, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Apex classes/triggers, and Visualforce pages.
• Apply ITIL-aligned processes in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions-ensuring alignment with service delivery, change management, and incident resolution workflows.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions that follow Agile and ITIL-based SDLC practices.
• Integrate Salesforce with backend systems (e.g., Oracle databases) using APIs and data transformation best practices.
• Conduct functional and accessibility testing (Section 508 compliance), defect resolution, and release support.
• Document processes, user guides, configuration decisions, and system architecture in accordance with DOJ standards and ITIL documentation requirements.
• Support change and configuration management activities, ensuring traceability and consistency with ITIL-based governance.

Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
• Minimum 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development.
• Proficient in Salesforce platform tools (Apex, LWC, Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL).
• Strong experience with Oracle 19c, PL/SQL, and Oracle Application Express (APEX).
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager, JavaScript, and dynamic form creation.
• Section 508 testing knowledge, including JAWS and other accessibility tools.
• Understanding of ITIL-based service delivery, including incident, change, and configuration management.
• Able to obtain a DOJ Public Trust clearance. (Current clearance preferred.)

- Pay Rate / Range: $75.98- $80.98
