Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Director, Capture Excellence to join the Strategy and Mission Solutions (S&MS) team within the Networked Information Solutions Division. The selected individual will be responsible for leading the S&MS Capture team to execute acquisition activities and proposal responses to create, position for, and capture new business.
We are looking for a proven leader with a successful record of winning competitive captures, as well as experience cultivating relationships with customer and industry partners for teaming. The director will work across the Division, and therefore must engage and integrate teams by serving as a facilitator, coach and trainer. A successful candidate will demonstrate both experience with captures, training a team on the capture process, and active engagement in the captures. We expect the Capture Director to "roll their sleeves up" and be directly involved in Sector, Division, and Business Unit Priority Wins.
The NIS Division is a dynamic, fast-moving environment, with multiple simultaneous captures (typically between 10 to 15) active at any given time with potential values anywhere between a few million to hundreds of millions. NIS supports Secure Processing, Communication Solutions, Cyber and Information Systems, and the InSight™ product line, presenting a diverse slate of capabilities across Hybrid SATCOM, Directed Line of Sight Comms, Cybersecurity, Cryptographic solutions, Anti Tamper, and Intelligent Networking.

Salary Range: $197,500.00 - $325,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Another Northrop Grumman facility with proper SCIF/SAPF accessibility to conduct NIS work
- Proximity to key customer (as defined by hiring manager)
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Own the responsibility, authority, and accountability, in partnership with our capture managers, for successful capture outcomes across all division priority wins
- Provide thought leadership and lessons learned in the development and execution of individual capture strategies and win themes
- Identify and structure effective cross-functional capture teams to prepare high-quality, compliant proposals by aligning talent and resources
- Support capture managers to distill win strategies down to specific, executable tasks to increase probability of win
- Coach our capture managers to develop good business deals and support contract negotiation strategies to ensure our proposals meet the company's financial expectations
- Collaborate across the organization to conduct Position to Win analyses, manage Design to Cost targets, and facilitate make/buy decisions to optimize proposal outcomes
- Develop, implement, and manage processes aligned to the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP) that results in an increased capture Pwin and improved win rate
- Strengthen the competencies of our capture managers by conducting skills assessments and tailoring training plans aligned to corporate and sector BD Excellence initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree AND 12 or more years of related professional experience OR a master's degree AND 10 or more years of related professional experience
- Demonstrated multi-disciplinary people and capture leadership experience in the aerospace & defense industry, including leading direct reports
- Knowledge of the Department of Defense acquisition and planning/programming processes
- Knowledge of and/or relationships with key mission systems customers in the Department of Defense and National Security communities
- Must have a minimum of an active DoD Top Secret clearance; OR DoE equivalent (active clearance is required to be considered)
Preferred Qualifications:
- TS/SCI clearance
- 15+ years of relevant industry experience in business development and capture leadership
