FedWriters is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support the U.S. Access Board's IT infrastructure. This role will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems, including LAN/WAN environments, firewalls, and cloud connectivity.

Work Schedule and Location:

Responsibilities
- Provide network administration for LAN/WAN and cloud services
- Configure, deploy, and maintain network devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
- Respond to escalated incident reports and trouble tickets related to network issues
- Track the deployment of network devices and maintain accurate documentation
- Monitor network performance and implement improvements
- Coordinate configuration changes via the defined Change Control Board (CCB) process
- Ensure network security in accordance with federal government standards
- Provide cable plant maintenance services, including installation and troubleshooting
- Support VPN and remote access capabilities
- Manage DNS services and network monitoring tools
- Coordinate with vendor and third-party maintenance providers
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a senior-level network engineer
- Experience with various network architectures (WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, SD-branch)
- Hands-on experience with major network device vendors including Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper Networks
- Strong understanding of network protocols and security principles
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Ability to document network infrastructure and standard configurations
- Ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance
- Relevant network certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.)
- Experience in federal government IT environments
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and implementation
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and controls
- Experience with network automation tools
