FedWriters is seeking a talented Cloud Architect/Engineer to design, implement, and support cloud solutions for the U.S. Access Board. This role will be responsible for cloud infrastructure, migration strategies, and ensuring optimal performance of cloud-based systems.

**Position is contingent upon successful contract award**

Work Schedule and Location:

Hybrid: This full-time hybrid position will work Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Eastern) requiring some on-site presence at the Access Board's Washington DC location

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and integrate cloud computing and virtualization systems
  • Provide detailed information for hardware/software selection and cloud service provider selection
  • Develop implementation techniques and application/data migration strategies
  • Manage Microsoft Azure components and cloud-based services
  • Configure and maintain cloud infrastructure according to best practices
  • Support Microsoft 365 E5 plan administration and cloud environment
  • Implement security controls in cloud environments
  • Monitor cloud resources for performance, availability, and security
  • Document cloud architecture and standard configurations
  • Evaluate and report on new cloud technologies to enhance capabilities
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity in cloud environments


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a mid-level to senior-level Cloud Architect
  • Strong experience with cloud computing and virtualization technologies
  • Knowledge of cloud service provider architecture, design, and configuration
  • Experience with cloud deployment models (public, community, private, hybrid)
  • Familiarity with cloud service delivery models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Experience with virtual infrastructure management
  • Understanding of cloud scalability and performance optimization
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, etc.)
  • Experience in federal government IT environments
  • Knowledge of FedRAMP compliance requirements
  • Experience with cloud migration projects
  • Understanding of cloud security frameworks and controls
  • Experience with containers and orchestration technologies
