Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer in support of the Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (SOF AT&L) Program Executive Office for Maritime (PEO-M). The premier SOF acquirers in PEO Maritime are committed to delivering the highest quality technologically advanced combat diving equipment, surface systems, and undersea platforms globally to Naval Special Warfare operators.

Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility
Certifications: DAWIA Practitioner Equivalency IAW the PWS (DAWIA Level II equivalent), in the Engineering, Program Management, or Science and Technology (S&T) fields or the ability to attain within 6 months of hire with approved customer deferral
Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering field
Years of Experience: 10 years of systems engineering or systems integration experience in support of acquisition programs to include:

Education and Experience: Master's degree in and engineering field and 8 years of systems engineering or systems integration experience in support of acquisition programs

This is a full-time opportunity located at MacDill, AFB, FL.
Responsibilities
- Provides support to government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of agency engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and agency reporting requirements.
- Completes advanced engineering demand tasks such as reviewing engineering change proposals, requests for waivers and deviations, and nonconforming materials.
- Applies advanced tools to document and analyze the results of critical, complex activities and tasks.
- Provides inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, projects, problems, and recommended resolution.
- Expertly adjusts technical support to meet emergencies, changing programs or production requirements within available resources and without sacrifice to completeness and accuracy.
- Works with organizational managers, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to develop and gain approval for proposed projects.
- Evaluates and recommends programs and development plans, utilizing a professional knowledge of multi-discipline engineering and in accordance with International Association of Class Society (IACS), American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS), and Det Norske Veritas Germanischer Lloyd (DNV GL) standards.
- Supports contract modification and makes technical recommendations for change order approval. Supports budget control directly supporting the engineering effort.
- Provides decision support inputs for approval of plans, specification, cost estimates, design calculations, schedules, cost proposals, and engineering studies.
- Supports technical evaluation elements of market surveys conducted in conjunction with assigned projects and programs.
- Plans, executes, and documents surveillance of design, development, and production efforts on behalf of government counterparts, using performance indicators identified in applicable engineering surveillance processes.
- Analyzes trends in performance indicators to assist government counterparts with managing Agency level performance indicators, recommending corrective action, establishing lessons learned, and influencing the improvement of processes.

Years of Experience: 10 years of systems engineering or systems integration experience in support of acquisition programs to include:
- Experience in US Navy or commercial submarine, submersible, or Naval ship design, construction or certification, and testing processes and criteria preferred
- Experience preparing, reviewing and interpreting design concepts and ability to convey ideas and formulate working drawings using computer aided design systems, graphical interface systems.
- Experience developing test requirements and overall objects and prepares test plans to meet the requirement of the project.
- Experience evaluating state-of-the-art scientific and environmental/engineering technologies and incorporating into the planning, design, operation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade of applicable systems.
- Experience in the principles, practices, and policies of professional engineering program management to include program planning and budget cycles, and financial control/budgeting systems.
Preferred Experience:
Education and Experience: Master's degree in and engineering field and 8 years of systems engineering or systems integration experience in support of acquisition programs
- 3+ years of experience in the International Association of Class Society (IACS), American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS), or Det Norske Veritas Germanischer Lloyd (DNV GL).
- Knowledge of SOF-unique acquisition processes is desired'
- Maritime experience is valued
