Senior Aviation Military Analyst - Recon & Attack SME

We are seeking a Senior Aviation Military Analyst with deep expertise in reconnaissance and attack aviation to support Army Capability Managers (ACMs) and the Experimentation and Analysis Directorate (CEAD) at the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE). This critical role provides technical and operational insights to enhance capability development, simulation, and warfighting assessments across the Army Aviation enterprise.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze Army Aviation organizations in support of formation-based assessments, simulations, and annual capability needs.
  • Tailor analytical methodologies to assess tasks, conditions, standards, and operational gaps across reconnaissance and attack formations.
  • Support development and revision of JCIDS and other emerging Army Aviation requirements documents.
  • Evaluate manned/unmanned platform requirements and analyze system capabilities in Large-Scale Combat Operations (LSCO) contexts.
  • Contribute to capability-based assessments (CBAs), operational testing, and technology evaluations.
  • Independently produce technical documentation including white papers, concept papers, and operational views.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Rated Army Aviator with at least 15 years of Aviation flight and combat operations experience.
  • Senior or Master-rated Aviator qualification.
  • Completion of CGSC/ILE, Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course, or civilian equivalent staff training.
  • Minimum of 5 years in capability management or combat developments.
  • Proven experience leading Joint Working Groups, aviation studies, or operational test events.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills with ability to deliver graduate-level written products.
  • Experience as a Standardization Instructor Pilot (SIP) in Army reconnaissance and attack platforms (post-2010).
  • Tactical planning experience for organizations operating 24+ AH-64 or 30+ UH-60 helicopters.
  • Leadership experience managing aviation units of 400+ personnel.
  • Authorship of a JCIDS document approved by the Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC).
  • Secret clearance required.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
  • Operational deployment to a theater of operations.
  • Training Army Aviation formations in Division, Corps, and Theater environments.
  • Completion of "How the Army Runs" training or equivalent.
