Position Overview:

The Senior Test Engineer will play a key role in supporting over 80+ systems within the FEMA enterprise. The systems span various Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies including Agile, Hybrid-Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD. The engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing manual and automated testing to ensure software quality across diverse platforms and development lifecycles.

Job Responsibilities:

Test Planning & Execution:
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies and test plans based on project requirements and timelines.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases for functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
  • Participate in Agile and Waterfall-based sprint/release planning to align testing activities with development schedules.

Automation Development:
  • Design, implement, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts for both functional and performance testing.
  • Build reusable libraries and tools to increase efficiency in the test automation process.

Requirements Analysis & Test Case Development:
  • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into detailed, traceable test cases and scripts.
  • Develop manual and automated test cases with clear step-by-step instructions for execution and validation.
  • Maintain requirement traceability matrices to ensure complete test coverage.

Defect Management & Risk Identification:
  • Log and manage defects using industry-standard tools (e.g., ALM, Jira).
  • Track and report test metrics, and proactively identify risks and dependencies during all test phases.

Tool Proficiency & Process Optimization:
  • Utilize functional testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Unified Functional Testing), API testing tools (e.g., SoapUI), and performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner/Performance Center).
  • Apply expertise in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and MicroFocus Test Tool Suite.
  • Research and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.

Coordination & Communication:
  • Coordinate test environments and schedules in alignment with project timelines and deployment windows.
  • Provide timely and effective communication with development teams, project managers, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings and working groups to share insights and support quality assurance initiatives.

Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years in software testing, with a strong background in both manual and automated

testing methodologies.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
