Position Overview:

The Mid-Level Test Engineer will support quality assurance activities across a broad portfolio of systems within the FEMA enterprise. The engineer will assist in the planning, development, and execution of manual and automated testing, contributing to efforts that span various development methodologies including Agile, Hybrid-Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD.

Job Responsibilities:

Test Planning & Execution:
  • Support the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Perform manual and automated testing activities to validate functionality, performance, and security.
  • Participate in Agile sprint planning and provide input to test coverage goals.

Automation & Tool Usage:
  • Implement automated test scripts under guidance from senior testers or leads.
  • Work with functional testing tools such as Selenium or Unified Functional Testing (UFT).
  • Conduct API testing using tools like SoapUI and assist with performance testing using tools like LoadRunner.

Test Case Development & Documentation:
  • Translate requirements into well-documented test scenarios and cases.
  • Contribute to requirement traceability matrices and ensure adequate test coverage of features.

Defect Management & Reporting:
  • Log and track defects, participate in root cause analysis, and validate fixes.
  • Work with issue tracking tools like Jira, and document test results in test management platforms such as ALM or TestRail.

Team Collaboration & Communication:
  • Coordinate with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to clarify testing needs.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospective meetings.
  • Provide timely feedback and contribute to a collaborative, solution-focused testing culture.

Skill Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Certification:
  • ISTQB Foundation Level
  • Certified Agile Tester (CAT)
  • DevOps Foundation (optional, but beneficial)
