Tygart Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Architect with expertise in cloud-based data infrastructure and Data Mesh architecture. This role plays a strategic part in planning, designing, and implementing scalable data solutions that align with our decentralized data management strategy. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience across modern data platforms, ETL pipelines, data governance, and cross-functional collaboration to enable enterprise-wide self-service analytics.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the planning, high-level design, and evaluation of innovative data solutions and emerging technologies.
• Develop and maintain cloud-native data infrastructure to support decentralized and scalable data environments.
• Design and implement ETL pipelines using AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda) tailored to support data domain-specific requirements.
• Collaborate with domain teams to build and deploy data products with compliant schema design, data transformation rules, and storage solutions.
• Establish data governance practices across the enterprise, including access controls, data lineage, and compliance with privacy regulations.
• Maintain and enhance the organization’s data catalog, automating governance workflows to ensure data quality and discoverability.
• Lead the deployment and maintenance of a Data Mesh architecture, ensuring data product interoperability across multiple domains.
• Manage the ongoing operations and reliability of the Data Mesh software and infrastructure.
• Drive cultural transformation through training and guidance on Data Mesh principles for data stewards and business users.
• Align technical solutions with business goals through strong stakeholder communication and influence.
• Operate within Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) using Jira, Confluence, and SAFe practices.
• Deliver targeted training sessions to internal teams to enhance data and technology competencies.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
• Current Secret Security Clearance
• Minimum of 8 years designing and implementing modern data architectures including data lakes, data warehouses, and data mesh frameworks.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with cloud-based platforms (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP also considered).
• At least 2 years of experience leading data engineering or architecture teams in cross-functional environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline (preferred).
• Proficiency with AWS cloud services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda).
• Strong understanding of Agile development tools and frameworks: Jira, Confluence, Scrum, SAFe.
• Familiarity with data cataloging, governance tools, and data security frameworks.
