Description
Expertise and Functions Establish cloud/virtualization governance and drive cloud-native modernization Ensure tight integration with IT, cybersecurity, and application delivery teams Design, implement, troubleshoot, and sustain hybrid environments Administer Container Platforms such as OpenShift, Docker, and Podman as well as maintain Repositories/Registries Work with system engineers to identify and define requirements for new systems/system modifications, developing designs, and implementing and testing solutions Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations Ensure system software installations, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements Carry out high-level activities associated with design and system architecture Design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures (Azure, AWS, or hybrid) for enterprise workloads Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure integration and compliance Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS transitions Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates (e.g., ARM, Terraform, CloudFormation) Innovate in process improvement and system design Learn challenging concepts, decompose difficult service problems and provide resolution Create and follow standard processes and clearly document results Effectively function as self-starter and identify risks, issues, and opportunities to leadership Facilitate effective and efficient interchanges with senior customer management and customers Work on cutting-edge on-prem and cloud platforms in support of defense, intelligence, and enterprise modernization programs Other duties as assigned

Salary: $145,000 - $170,000

Requirements
Experience/Education:
- 8+ years of IT experience, with 3 years in cloud engineering roles
- 3+ years of experience in management or leadership roles
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform
- Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, etc.)
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerization, and service mesh (AKS, EKS, Istio)
- Experience designing hybrid and multi-cloud solutions
- Understanding of networking, storage, identity, and DevSecOps pipelines
Preferred Experience:
- Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional)
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Federal cloud initiatives
- Experience with model-based system engineering models and tools
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Have experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment
- Have experience writing and executing Ansible playbooks
- Have experience with scripting languages (e.g. YAML, Python
Security:
- Must be a US citizen
- Candidate must be in possession of a Secret Security Clearance or higher
Physical Requirements:
- Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
- Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
- Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
- Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time
