Job Summary:

Red Canyon Technologies is seeking a seasoned Science and Technology (S&T) Protection Specialist to support national security-aligned innovation and research initiatives. This position plays a vital role in protecting sensitive and emerging technologies from unauthorized access or exploitation. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, deep knowledge of technology protection principles, and the ability to translate complex security requirements into actionable plans.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of technical programs and projects to identify potential security risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with project teams and leadership to ensure the secure handling and sharing of information across organizational and external boundaries.
  • Provide expert guidance on protection strategies, including documentation and oversight of compliance measures tied to technology risk.
  • Support the creation and review of security-related documents, such as threat assessments, protection plans, and accreditation materials.
  • Advise stakeholders on technical security best practices and policies throughout the development lifecycle of sensitive programs.
  • Stay informed on current and emerging threats relevant to scientific and technological innovation and incorporate this awareness into security recommendations.
  • Liaise with cross-disciplinary teams including cybersecurity, physical security, and counterintelligence professionals to align and strengthen integrated protection strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Security Studies, Information Assurance, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in technology protection, classified program security, or related roles within government or defense sectors.
  • Active Secret security clearance required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting security assessments and implementing information protection controls.
  • Knowledge of federal security requirements, including classified, export-controlled, and controlled unclassified information (CUI) protocols.
  • Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences alike.

Work Environment:The role is primarily based in Dayton, OH, with potential for limited travel to other program or partner locations. Candidates must be able to work effectively in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and security-conscious setting.
