OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Configuration Management Lead to oversee and maintain the integrity of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB), hardware and software inventory, and critical policy documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of configuration management principles and best practices, ensuring accurate and reliable data to support IT operations and decision-making.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Configuration Management Lead to oversee and maintain the integrity of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB), hardware and software inventory, and critical policy documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of configuration management principles and best practices, ensuring accurate and reliable data to support IT operations and decision-making.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Maintain the CMDB, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established standards.
- Manage and track software and hardware assets throughout their lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal.
- Administer software licensing to ensure compliance and optimize utilization.
- Develop, maintain, and update configuration management policies, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with various IT teams to identify, define, and document configuration items (CIs).
- Ensure proper identification, control, and status accounting of CIs.
- Support audit activities related to configuration management.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of configuration management practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in Configuration Management or a related field.
- Possession of a Level I certification in accordance with DoD 8570 requirements (e.g., Security+ CE).
- Proven ability to manage and maintain a CMDB.
- Experience with hardware and software inventory management.
- Familiarity with software licensing principles and best practices.
- Strong understanding of ITIL framework and configuration management processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
CLEARANCE:
- TS/SCI minimum with willingness to sit for a CI Polygraph
