Nework Architect

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Use Cisco products (Security Manager, Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), Prime, and Firepower) to manage network and firewalls (AlgoSec and Cisco StealthWatch), network security (physical and virtual), and overall enterprise network infrastructure support.
• Provide inventory reports detailing license management for current products.
• Coordinate implementation efforts with the appropriate groups to validate/verify change success and assess impact.
• Hold lessons learned sessions following implementation of upgrades or patches, document, and share results with the team.
• Use Ansible and Python scripts to implement changes for configuration, using automation as necessary.
• Provide a central repository for scripts ensuring other IT service providers have streamlined processes for breaks/fixes.
• Address issues, outages, and security considerations ensuring the stability of network capabilities and provide technical support with existing capabilities and expanded automation.
• Work with lower support tiers to provide incident and problem resolutions for all network related issues and maintain the health of the network
• Resolve issues related to third parties and vendors.
• Monitor ticket queues.
• Update knowledge-based articles (KBA) and standard operating procedures (SOP) to troubleshoot issues to minimize resolution time, ensuring SLAs and SLOs are met.
• Support critical incidents until resolved and documented.
• Provide root cause analysis, debrief on troubleshooting outcome, and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with counterparts to manage the full change request lifecycle coordinating with the user who submits the CR to open, resolve, and track each to closure.
• Provide subject matter expertise to identify opportunities and make recommendations for improvements that could result in cost saving.
• Meet with management regularly to review recommendations and devise plans for enhancements.
• Use Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence and MS Teams to provide transparency and allow information to be visible in real time and to create a unified backlog ensuring visibility into all areas of work and identifying inter-dependencies between teams.
• Work with the network performance team and provide recommendations on changes required in the environment, on the network, or to any device/service within the infrastructure; and upon government approval, execute the change.
• Create an analysis of tools currently in use and provide the government with recommendations on cost savings.
• Provide network assistance and expert advice in the resolution of incidents elevated to the
• Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT). The CIRT is responsible to contact and triage the appropriate experts to collectively solve technical issues across the the infrastructure and its applications.
• Monitor the assigned queue(s) for incidents, provide expert analysis to resolve problems,
• Provide support for Cloud routers and other network equipment in Equinix, AWS, and Azure to include but not limited to CSR, ASR, Security groups, VPCs, and VPGs.
• Assist Engineering and Architecture team in the rollout of new products and services on the network as needed to include, but not limited to, IP address assignment, VLAN assessments, switching/routing connectivity, and troubleshooting as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field preferred. 5-10 years of experience.
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, collaborative environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills required.
• Must have strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills
• Experience with major cloud providers preferred.
• Possess superior technical aptitude and effective

Preferred Qualifications:

• CCNP, CCNA or equivalent experience, ITIL v4 preferred
• Familiar with tools including: ServiceNow, GitHub, Jira, Confluence
• Experience with ITIL, DevSecOps and Agile concepts
• Experience supporting Government contracts

Security Clearance Requirements:

• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain Public Trust and complete DHS Security Clearance
• Ability to obtain DHS EOD suitability
• Current DHS EOD highly preferred
