The Expeditionary Systems Engineering Division (ESED) is a component of Corona Division, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). ESED performs full spectrum life cycle engineering and test support to verify the safety, reliability, and effectiveness of Expeditionary Warfare systems. The primary function of ESED is to provide In-Service Engineering and Test and Evaluation for the Department of Defense (DoD). As part of this function, ESED conducts test operations at regional Southern California ranges such as Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake and at multiple DoD ranges across the United States. This task sets forth the requirements for technical services related to testing to include test planning, test execution, test support, test operations and associated logistics. These services are in support of a wide variety of systems across their life cycle, which include ESED's main focus areas such as Arms, Ammunition, Explosives, Weapons Systems, and associated platforms utilized by the Expeditionary Warfare community. ESED's secondary focus areas such as Sensors and Communications, Mobility Platforms, Systems Integration, and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) equipment with unique military applications; and other new or existing systems that require independent testing for Expeditionary Warfare.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Equipment Engineer will support the Program Manager in the execution of the Test Operations Support Services contract. They will provide technical expertise in the testing, operation, repair and maintenance of electronics systems, environmental conditioning units and other similar items that support current and ongoing projects and tasks at the Fallbrook operating site as well as various test ranges on the Test Operations Support Services (TOSS) contract. This position is located in Fallbrook, CA.

What You'll Do
- Provide technical expertise in the testing, operation, repair, and maintenance of electronics systems, environmental conditioning units, and additional equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with technical standards.
- Repair and/or replace failed items and coordinate logistics support as required.
- Troubleshoot/repair cascading refrigeration components, to include logistics requirements to support off-site vendor repairs.
- Re-Charge refrigeration systems as needed to maintain environmental conditioning units.
- Support vehicle loading and unloading from trucks and provide operational equipment and material storeroom support.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and operate Cascading Refrigeration Systems used to support RDT&E events that may be held in multiple locations.
- Conducting service checks and performing routine maintenance to keep electronics functioning properly.
- Set up and calibrate electronics systems by following schematics and diagrams.
- Identifying parts needed to order for repairs and maintenance.
- Bid and proposal support if requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
- Technical or HS Diploma required.
- An active and maintained EPA 608 Type 2 or EPA 608 Universal certification.
- Two (2) - Five (5) years of experience experience working as an Electronics Technician.
- Knowledge of electronic test and measurement instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, etc.
- Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess strong time management skills.
- Ability to be trained and certified in forklift and other weight handling equipment.
- Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

- The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area or on-board submarines and in weapon facilities.
- The ability to operate heavy machinery and industrial tools with limited to no supervision. Examples may include but are not limited to: Electric/Disel Forklift, CNC Milling Machine, Welding/Soldering, CAT III Overhead Crane, pallet jack, "Big Joe" stand-behind pallet lift mechanism, and more.
- Travel Required ~10% travel required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified Electronics Technician
- Working knowledge of the US Navy/US Marine Corps systems, programs, policies, nomenclatures, work methods, manuals, or other established guidance and/or an understanding of the needs of the Quality System ISO 9001:2015 Registered and Certified organization's service.
- Three (3) plus years experience working with refrigeration systems.
- Two (2) plus years experience with cascading refrigeration systems.
- Three (3) plus years experience as a USMC, USN or USA Electronics Technician Role.
