Overview

R&P is looking for an Administrative Assistant who wants to join our team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients.

Responsibilities

  • The Administrative Assistant will provide Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) support to the DDG, LPD and LHA Programs in Pascagoula, MS for all PCU milestone evolutions.
  • The Administrative Assistant will also provide direct administrative support to the Commanding Officers/Executive Officers including coordinating schedules and activities and assist with Ship's Office routine.
  • Receive, review, and distribute Command correspondence and take appropriate action to staff responses. Maintain correspondence and serial logs.
  • Provide the ship's force with programs, documentation, and deliverables electronically during crew development through move-aboard.
  • Track the progress of the POA&M for Commanding Officer and Executive Officer and assist with resolution for delinquent requirements.
  • Assist in routing entitlement requests through ship's chain of Command.
  • Typing and formatting command correspondence for routing and approval.
  • Assist in other administrative areas within our group of Personnel, Travel and Security when required.

Qualifications

  • USN YEOMAN (YN) experience or similar administrative experience.
  • Organized and be able to work with competing priorities.
  • Strong computer skills in the MS Office suite of software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Experienced with NSIPS, DTS and other Personnel/Disbursing applications.
  • Understanding of military terms and practices is beneficial.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Salary

R&P offers a highly competitive compensation package that includes contributions towards health insurance, 401(k) matching, and other non-salary benefits. Exact salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
