ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Security Engineer to join our team working in Crane, IN. This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 day a week onsite.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain Cybersecurity tools systems residing on the NSWC Crane networks.
  • Take appropriate measures to respond to known and possible network attacks in accordance with applicable DOD policies, directives and instructions.
  • Utilize Cyber Risk Modeling software and Vulnerability Assessment tools to develop and recommend internal procedures for handling network related incidents and protecting NSWC Crane networks.
  • Archive and audit security event logs
  • Ensure the installation and support of Security Information and Event Management tools including SPLUNK to archive and review system audit logs and all other pertinent log files and create dashboards that will support incident response activities.
  • Implement measures to prevent unauthorized software from being installed and executed on NSWC Crane systems.
  • Report, mitigate and/or resolve all classified security incidents (e.g. data spills) that impact NSWC Crane networks within time constraints identified by applicable directive.
  • Deploy and maintain data encryption methods, including but not limited to Bitlocker, as security protection method for inactive data or data at rest.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience performing network security duties and responsibilities
  • Bachelors of Science in any discipline OR Associates of Science with 4 additional years of experience OR High School Diploma with 6 additional years of experience
  • One of the following: Security+, GICSP, or equivalent DoD 8570.01 IAT-2 certification


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of IT Security tools such as Nessus
  • Experience as a Splunk Dashboard Developer


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret Security Clearance


Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
