System Administrator - Subject Matter Expert - Moon 477-05
Country Intelligence Group is seeking a Full-Time System Administrator to support our client in the administration and sustainment of enterprise-scale Linux environments that power mission-critical cyber and intelligence operations. The selected candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Linux system configuration, troubleshooting, and compliance-driven deployment practices across both physical and virtualized infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Linux systems engineering, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. This role also requires proactive communication, a problem-solving mindset, and a commitment to operational excellence within high-stakes environments.
Tasks Performed:
• Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and CentOS servers within a large-scale, mission-critical enterprise environment.
• Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patching to ensure system stability and compliance.
• Develop, implement, and maintain deterministic configuration management solutions using Puppet and Ansible to automate system provisioning, configuration, and updates.
• Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks or abnormal behavior in system processes.
• Ensure configuration consistency across all environments and support version-controlled, repeatable deployments.
• Diagnose and resolve complex Linux-related issues, including network configuration problems, file system errors, repository access failures, and misconfigured services.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
• Demonstrated expertise managing Linux Servers (RHEL, CENTOS) in an enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated expertise using deterministic configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible).
• System monitoring experience (memory, processes) via Linux command line (using commands such as top and ps).
• Demonstrated Linux troubleshooting skills (networking, file systems, repositories, configuration files, etc.) and ability to work with customers to identify and resolve issues.
• Demonstrated expertise provisioning and operating Linux servers or virtual machines in accordance with organizational compliance requirements.
• Experience scripting in Bash, Ruby or Python. (Preferred)
• Demonstrated expertise with Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing. (Preferred)
• Familiarization with VMWare and RAID configurations. (Preferred)
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator. (Preferred)
• Red Hat Certified System Engineer. (Preferred)

• Minimum Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.
• U.S. Citizenship, and successful background check.
