Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a multi-disciplined Sr. Principal Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
Our team that supports the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) is looking to grow in support of designing and implementing technologies critical to the USAF Open Architecture initiatives. Our work influences the investment decisions of our senior leadership and customer program offices as well as impacting the Air Force enterprise of acquisition programs. We are looking for innovative thinkers who thrive in a dynamic environment and are comfortable with multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks, giving verbal presentations, and self-educating without direct supervision.
The selected candidate will work with the Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering lead, and Test Lead to support Test Events for Open Mission System (OMS) and Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI) Standards development. You will be supporting a new program, so a high degree of comfortability with working in an environment where things are not fully defined and making/documenting assumptions while developing approaches based on those assumptions will serve you well.

Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Performing software baseline deployment, testing and troubleshooting a development/test network environment
- Integrating software into test suites, developing configurations for test events, and troubleshooting systems during these events.
- Regularly demonstrating an understanding of test plans, test procedures, test automation, test reports, and execution of integration test activities in System Integration Labs (SILs) or offsite locations.
- Reading error logs, and coordinating corrections with the development team
- Participation in architecture definition and complex system problem solving in support of Research and Advanced Design programs
- Collaborating with external industry partner teams to resolve issues and support operations and sustainment.
- Partnering significantly with industry and government stakeholder teams.
- Collaborating with the Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering Lead, and Test Lead to build out Systems Engineering artifacts in support of standards development for incorporation into ABMS and JADC2
- Generating and presenting material to support internal and external customer briefings
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related professional/military experience
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time as determined by the business.
- Professional experience with Systems/Software Testing and Integration
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% to support business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience with virtualized and/or simulation environments.
- Knowledge and experience with the definition of OMS - Open Mission System Architecture Specification and UCI - Universal Command and Control Interface
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Active SAP
- Experience with XML and Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Experience in integrating complex system across multiple domains
- Knowledge and experience with testing and integrating multiple USAF architecture approaches
- Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers
- Experience preparing Integrated Master Test plans
- Experience developing proposals and writing content for proposal technical volumes
- Solid understanding of the fundamentals of Test and Evaluation
