Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Contractor Special Security Representative (CSSR) to join our Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Mission Training Complex (MTC) team on-base in Washington state. The CSSR is responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of the sensitive compartmented information (SCI) security program for the sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF).

This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and customer approval.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides security oversight and ensures compliance with all PWS requirements for the SCIF
  • Administers, implements, manages, and audits security programs for compliance with government regulations associated with the protection of classified material
  • Develops, implements, and manages security policies, procedures, processes, and best practice standards specific to program requirements, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Conducts or supports internal company and/or other customer security assessments
  • Assists security incident/violation investigations and formally reports investigation results
  • Identifies security vulnerabilities and implements countermeasures
  • Develops and conducts Security training and briefs
  • Monitors SCIF personnel for prohibited items, policy violations, and unsafe practices
  • Completes CSSR annual checklist and retains current checklist in the SCIF Binder
  • Conducts self-inspections and gathers/updates pertinent security documentation for inclusion into SCIF binder
  • Oversees Collateral, SCI visitor control program and administers the access control program
  • Serves as the security point of contact for the SCIF
  • Must be able to work inside a cleared facility and monitor all activities in the SCIF


Basic Qualifications:

  • One of the following:
    • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience working in an intelligence agency, DoD component SCIF, or Special Access Program (SAP) facility
    • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience working in an intelligence agency, DoD component SCIF, or Special Access Program (SAP) facility
    • Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience working in an intelligence agency, DoD component SCIF, or Special Access Program (SAP) facility
  • Must have a working knowledge of security policies and procedures to include National Industrial Security Program Supplement, and DoD 5105.21 volumes 1-3
  • Minimum of 3 years of special security experience with DoD or equivalent Government agencies with operational level experience preferred
  • Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance
  • Must be able to work on-site at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington
  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possesses a National Security Agency Network (NSAnet) account
  • Possesses a current CI-scope polygraph (CSP) and has completed all mandatory oversight training
    • Training includes: OVSC1000: NSA/CSS Intelligence Oversight Training, OVSC1100: Overview of Signals Intelligence Authorities and OVSC1800: USSID SP0018 Training


Salary Range: $82,900.00 - $124,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
