Travel Coordinator

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance.

Cherokee Preting is seeking a Travel Coordinator to provide travel support services for activity mission, producing accurate, edited work products.

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay commensurate with experience.

Travel Coordinator Responsibilities Include:
  • Prepare reports and position papers to make recommendations regarding the accessions process, activity travel procedures, and other Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and/or Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) that address other activity supported units.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and commitments and produce itineraries and travel orders in support of activity missions.
  • Maintain a file system containing all pertinent travel related information and track organizational travel daily.
  • Track and communicate with prospective program members.
  • Coordinate with traveler to ensure timely input of travel requirements into the program related system.
  • Maintain travel guidance for TDY locations and provide input to unit policy based on expenditure analysis; provide analysis and input on estimated vs actual expenditures to ensure best expense of unit funds.
  • Maintain and forecast expenditures against funded training and travel, brief expenditures, forecasts, and document unfinanced requirements as necessary.
  • Provide ongoing assessment of processes to identify areas in need of improvement; ensure data integrity and assume special projects, as assigned.
  • Maintains statistical data; manages databases and utilizes HR automated tools and systems.
  • Develop and deliver briefings, strategies, reports, plans, meeting notes, presentations, etc., to activity stakeholders, as required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Travel Coordinator Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Associate's degree in finance or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive HR administrative experience, with a working knowledge of Joint Travel Regulation, military policies, operational processes and considerations; ability to perform a variety of recruitment support, employee relations support or personnel action processing functions.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in work related to military personnel, human resources, or office management.
  • Experience in military correspondence, policies or procedures, providing technical guidance on style, composition, and correct formats, organizing workload and master suspense logs, providing customer service
  • Prior experience using Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Data base entry abilities (updating existing databases).
  • Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situation with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
