Job Description:
Onsite Requirements:
* Oracle

Day-to-day Responsibilities:
* Designing and developing databases as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team working on geospatial data systems.
* Writing and optimizing PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, packages, and types using Oracle 12c and 19c.
* Managing and configuring Oracle databases, including server operations, pluggable databases, and Oracle STIG hardening procedures.
* Handling database operations on RHEL Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8), including scripting in Bash and C-shell.
* Designing database architectures to handle high-volume data ingestion, storage, and retrieval for geospatial intelligence systems.
* Working with AWS RDS for cloud-based database deployment and operations.
* Using tools like Jira and Git for version control and task tracking.
* Installing and configuring Oracle Instant Client for lightweight database connectivity across systems.
* Participating in system testing, deployment, and customer meetings, which may require occasional CONUS travel. Travel will be less than 10% (no more than once a month, several days at a time, but usually less than that).
Required:
* Bachelors + 6-8 years of DBA & DBE experience (experience across the entire development lifecycle).
Databases & Query Languages:
* Oracle RDBMS (12c and 19c).
* PL/SQL (procedures, functions, packages, types).
* SQL (query writing and optimization).
Database Operations & Features:
* Oracle STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide).
* Oracle Pluggable Databases.
* Oracle Basic Server Operations.
* Database Design & Development Processes.
Operating Systems & Scripting:
* RHEL Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8).
* Bash (shell scripting).
* C shell (csh) scripting.
Cloud Platforms:
* AWS RDS (Relational Database Service).
Tools & DevOps:
* Jira (issue tracking/project management).
* Git (version control).
Miscellaneous:
* Oracle Instant Client.
Desired Experience, Education, or Skills:
* Experience with DAO related programming in C++ or JAVA.
* Experience with Oracle Spatial option.
* Experience with Oracle RAC basic operations.
* Experience with Oracle Label Security (OLS) option.
* Experience with Oracle Identity Management (OIM) and Enterprise User Security (EUS).
* Experience with Oracle Dataguard.
