Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Associate Industrial Engineer to join our mission-focused team at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. The selected candidate will work with diverse, highly experienced teammates to install new capabilities on the B-2 Bomber fleet and will have the opportunity to apply operations management and analytics skills to optimize efficiency.
This position may require occasional shift work and extended work hours to meet aircraft delivery timelines. The selected candidate should thrive in a work environment where safety and quality are always first priority, and where collaboration and communication with multiple organizations is critical to team success.

Responsibilities:
- Develop a technical understanding of upgrades to be installed on the B-2 fleet
- Develop and continually iterate long range fleet modification plans, integrating the needs of multiple upgrade / modification programs into one executable overall schedule
- Generate, issue, and control individual aircraft execution plans and participate in daily scrum meetings with production teams
- Analyze shop floor data and track relevant metrics for daily performance management, i.e. daily earns, efficiency, work in progress, cost, and schedule
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement time and cost-saving, impactful solutions (which may require working on or around aircraft, stands and ladders)
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, to improve efficiency, reduce cost, optimize schedule and increase capacity and throughput
- Execute special studies and projects, conduct time studies, develop standard operating procedures, and ensure employee training and certifications are in place to accomplish new aircraft modifications
- Develop proposals for future modifications by analyzing design information and historical data, develop a basis of estimate, generate a bill of materials, and establish staffing requirements
Basic Qualifications:
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
- Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, industrial and manufacturing engineering, or industrial and systems engineering strongly preferred
- Have coursework or experience with computer aided design, manufacturing methods, system design, and systems simulation
- Have familiarity with Production and Operations analysis
- Be quality-focused with strict attention to detail
- Have strong technical communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teammates of various roles and experience levels
- Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
Pay Range:
- Associate Industrial Engineer (T01): $55,100 - $82,700
