We have an exciting opportunity for an Embedded Hardware Engineer (Subject Matter Expert) to support the 96 Cyberspace Test Group (96 CTG) at Eglin AFB, FL. This role operates within the Threat Development Laboratory under the Cyber Test and Evaluation Complex, providing technical leadership and expertise in embedded hardware cybersecurity.

LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL
JOB STATUS: Full Time
TRAVEL: 25% CONUS / OCONUS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
BSEE/BSCE with 15+ years of relevant experience, or MSEE/MSCE with 10+ years of relevant experience, or PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Active Secret clearance required (U.S. Citizenship mandatory).
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Must obtain DoD 8140 (formerly DoD 8570) IAT Level 3 certification within 1 year of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
Experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and fabrication
Basic understanding of Integrated Circuits (ICs)
Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles as they apply to hardware
Experience with Test and Evaluation of PCBs, ICs, or other board level hardware
Strong background in hardware, firmware, software, networks, and RF for vulnerability discovery, exploit development, and penetration testing.
Knowledge of emerging technologies, threats, and security strategies.
Expertise across the entire acquisition lifecycle.
Ability to manage technical programs, ensuring cost, schedule, and performance deliverables are met.
Working knowledge of DoD regulations, standards, and policies regarding Acquisitions, Hardware Security,
Anti-Tamper, Supply Chains, and Cybersecurity.
Experience in DoD research and testing laboratories, including Systems Integration Labs (SILs), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments, and Cybersecurity labs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical direction and oversight for the Threat Development Laboratory within the Cyber Test and Evaluation Complex.
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in board/chip-level embedded hardware cyber test & evaluation (T&E).
Drive the funding and development of new board/chip-level cyber test & evaluation capabilities within the CTEC.
Collaborate with test managers to design test plans and objectives utilizing the Threat Development Laboratory’s capabilities.
Support test execution within the laboratory and travel as needed for project planning, execution, and reporting.
