Join Peraton as a System Engineer - Cyber Intelligence Laurel, MD

Are you passionate about cybersecurity and national defense? Peraton is looking for a System Engineer to join our elite Cyber Intelligence team in Laurel, MD. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of mission-critical systems by supporting the full life-cycle of information security operations.

As a key member of our team, you'll drive the implementation and enforcement of information security policies, procedures, and best practices-safeguarding our nation's most vital assets.
What You'll Do:
  • Maintain and enhance the operational security posture of high-impact information systems.
  • Support daily security operations, ensuring systems adhere to established security standards and protocols.
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments to ensure secure processing of classified information.
  • Lead efforts in certification and accreditation activities, including development of key documentation (SSPs, SRTMs, Risk Reports, etc.).
  • Manage system changes and evaluate their security impact in real time.
  • Perform configuration management for security hardware, software, and firmware components.
  • Ensure compliance with government requirements.
  • Provide guidance on and enforce information assurance policies across programs and systems.
  • Serve as the Approval Authority for assigned information systems.
What You Bring:
  • Strong experience working in Linux environments.
  • Deep understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage security programs, assess system changes, and oversee C&A efforts.
  • Hands-on experience supporting information assurance at the program, system, or enclave level.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
  • Seventeen years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
  • Five years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
  • DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Management (IAM), Level I or higher is required

Details

Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
