Staff Operations Officer SME

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance.

Cherokee Insights is seeking a Staff Operations Officer SME to support USSOCOM.

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay commensurate with experience.

Staff Operations Officer SME Responsibilities Include:
  • Serves as primary interface between the customer's Headquarters Staff and the operational elements either at Home Station, in other CONUS locations, or forward deployed to OCONUS locations.
  • Supports home station and deploys operational elements by providing operational research, analysis, and advice in furtherance of the customer's objective to acquire intelligence.
  • Utilizes customer-specific databases to conduct research and to write summaries, reports, official correspondence, and guidance.
  • Provides thorough and knowledgeable briefings to the customer.
  • Assists with the implementation of Intelligence Community directives and procedures legally required to facilitate operational requirements.
  • Drafts comprehensive written reports for direction and guidance of current/future operations.
  • Develops and/or contributes to the development of Operations Orders (OPORDS) and Concepts of Operations (CONOPs), pre-mission training events for force provides; and plans, manages, and executes Staff Mission Briefs (SMBs).
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Staff Operations Officer SME Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Working knowledge in the areas of national-level Special Operations Forces and Special Operations intelligence functions and capabilities, or national-level Intelligence Community functions and capabilities.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience and ability to demonstrate proficiency in researching, building, staffing, and presenting information briefs and decision briefs to audiences at the rank equivalent of O-6/GS-15 and above.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, as well as to establish and maintain a strong customer-focused working relationship.
  • Must have demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and must have a working knowledge with Microsoft Project and Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Proficiency with standard commercial software applications (e.g., web browsers, Windows) is also expected.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
