On-Call Behavioral Health Specialist

Location: Big Bend, Texas (Marfa)
Rate: $60/hour (1099 contract)
Shifts: 12-Hour Day or Night Shifts (as needed/on-call)

Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking On-Call Behavioral Health Specialists to provide trauma-informed behavioral health services to children in DHS custody at federal facilities in Big Bend, TX (Marfa).

This flexible, as-needed position supports critical behavioral health operations in high-pressure environments and is ideal for licensed professionals looking to contribute to meaningful, mission-driven work.

What You'll Do

As an On-Call Behavioral Health Specialist, you will work onsite alongside full-time staff to deliver emotional support, crisis response, and behavioral health assessments for children in federal care. You will help ensure every child receives clinically sound and compassionate care during their time in custody.

Core Responsibilities
  • Serve as a behavioral health contact for facility staff and care teams
  • Conduct rounds to assess and monitor child well-being
  • Deliver trauma-informed crisis intervention and emotional stabilization
  • Provide guidance on behavioral health practices and care strategies
  • Collaborate with CBP, HHS ORR, NGOs, and healthcare providers to coordinate care
  • Support decision-making for complex developmental, psychological, or medical needs
  • Maintain detailed documentation of behavioral health encounters
  • Recommend improvements to promote safe, child-centered care environments
Schedule & Shift Details
  • 12-hour shifts: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM or 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM
  • On-call scheduling based on facility need and staff availability
  • May include weekends, holidays, or short-notice requests
Requirements
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in a behavioral health field
  • Active, unrestricted license as one of the following:

    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LICSW)
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
    • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
    • Licensed Psychologist (LP)
  • At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in:

    • Child development
    • Trauma-informed care
    • Clinical evaluations
  • Spanish/English bilingual preferred (minimum ILR 3/5 or equivalent)
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multidisciplinary, team-based environments
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Adaptability to dynamic program and field conditions
