Software Engineer
Location: Fairfax, VA

Job Description:
We are seeking a Software Engineer with a strong background in designing and implementing software for signals or data processing systems. This role requires experience across the full software development lifecycle, including code design, implementation, testing, analysis, and debugging. Candidates should have a solid understanding of client-server architectures and networking protocols and must be proficient in programming with C, C++, and Python. Object-oriented design experience is preferred. Development work will be conducted in Linux environments.
This position supports the development of high-performance data processing applications for mission-critical systems. Engineers will be involved in building robust interfaces to manage system control, status, and monitoring, and will be responsible for maintaining software configurations and baselines to ensure consistency and reliability across deployments. Job Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, test, and deploy software for data and signal processing systems.
- Develop control, monitoring, and status interfaces.
- Manage software configurations and system baselines.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of five years of software engineering experience.
- Proficiency with Linux and C/C++.
Desired Skills:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Experience with MATLAB.
- Familiarity with GNSS systems such as GPS or Galileo.
- Experience developing database systems (flat-file, relational, object-oriented).
- Background in communications systems development and testing.
- Understanding of communications systems theory, including analog and digital modulation/demodulation.
- Familiarity with signal processing algorithms and techniques.
- Experience with safety-critical software development standards such as DO-278A.
- Experience using commercial tools such as Eclipse Desktop C++ IDE, Intel C++ Compiler, Vectorcast Unit Test and QA Frameworks, and Synopsys Coverity.
